Has anyone did an upgrade similar case below?  Based from our source and target systems, how would my upgrade would be?  I would like to know which one I need to upgrade first.  There might be dependencies and incompatibilities of which I am not aware of. 

Should I upgrade the OS first, then Oracle 9.0 32bit to Oracle 11g 64 bit.  Then Non-unicode to Unicode (export), Install ECC 6.0 via SAP Netweaver 7.3 Ehp1.

Hi,

I am performing SCM 7.0 EHP3 update from SCM 7.0.

During the requirements check phase, getting a screen called application specific preupgrade steps ASU start tool box with transaction code /ASU/UPGRADE , sap note - 100009.

Are these steps applicable to SCM 7.0 > SCM7.0 EHP scenario. If I open that transaction code , it shows some stepsre obligatoy and optional.

what are in those executed by Basis. Please let me know and guide for the same.

The scenario is EHP6 upgrade of our ECC6 EHP4 Unix/Oracle servers. We are using SUM version 1.0.4 patch level 3

The first sandbox EHP6 upgrade testing has become stuck in the phase PREP_EXTENSION/IS_SELECT. The short version of the story is that we have several add-in products that are no longer used -- and the maintenance contract with the vendor dropped. The SUM proceeds to the Add-On selection screen and requires choices to KEEP existing, UPGRADE or DELETE. Without a support contract, upgrade is not an option. Logically then I select keep, we don't use it, it is in a separate namespace -- so leave it alone. SUM has decided that the only way forward is to DELETE these add-ins. This requires the original SAR files be added to the EPS/in directory. After several days searching for 5 year old software, I found what appear to be the correct SAR files add upload these to the EPS/in directory. However this does not resolve the problem.

To date the message I opened with SAP has been fruitless, pointing continually to SAP note 1324910. The short version of that note is "not an SAP problem".

So, to the experienced upgraders out there: any suggestions, workarounds or kludges? We are not really interested in buying support for this old product to get the vendor to work with us.

We are upgrading IDES ECC 6.0 EhP6 with the latest support packs through SUM. The stack was generated from MOPZ and the corresponding components were downloaded and SUM started ..

The process now stopped at the phase MAIN_TRANSEXEC/TABIM_TRANS with the following error :

What is the maximum possible SAP release ( to which we can upgrade a 4.6c (or similar old releases) within one downtime?

Is there any reference (SAP Notes/ Help Docs/ Upgrade guide) which could provide this info/limitations?

Our source system in on SAP ERP6.0 EHP2 and we would like to upgrade it to EHP7 HANA.

I think the sequence of activties which are involved to perform this activity is as follows

1) Perform EHP upgrade on existing ERP6.0 EHP2

2) Install HANA on a seperate box

3) Perform a Heterogenous system copy to HANA DB.

Can some one please confirm if this sequence is correct?

Also it would be great if i can get any links, OSS notes which needs to followed for performing this activity.

I try to apply support packages in ERP emhancemente 6.06 from sp level 7 to sp 10, but i have a problem because my system has a lot inactive obejects in sap and I need to activate them quickly, to continue apply sp untill 10 level.

Now I´m using report RADMASG0, but is too slow the activation, someone knows another way and quick to activate massive objects?

We had installed SAP 6.0 EHP 5. And we are looking for Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI). But not able to find it. I got something in help.sap.com which says we need software component IS-UT 604 in order to get this AMI. Link which I refered is given below.

Find below the Software Component's level that we currently have in our system ( SC which are mentioned as prerequisties in above linke)

IS-UT - 600 SP16

FI-CA - 600 SP16

SAP_APPL - 605

EA-APPL - 605

As per the above link we have to upgrade IS-UT and FI-CA as we have the other two comp @ higher level. we belive that our SAP ERP is @ EHP 5, my question is whether we can Upgrade IS-UT and FI-CA component (to EHP 5) via SAINT Or we need to do an EHP 5 upgrade. Do we need any stack.xml file for that, If so how can we get it. We tried to genarate Stack file through our SOLMAN system. But we are not able to find the component IS-UT under SMSY while creating product system. Because of which we are unable to generate stack file.

I tried upgrading using SAP Enh. Package 5 for SAP ERP 6.0 1 of 7 ( 51036979_1) with help of EHPi but it again asked for stack.xml file.

Can some one help me in this.

i have been trying to download the 640 release components of FI_CA & IS-UT from MOPZ but am not able to find the 604 upgrade components in the mopx ABAP section if i tried to go under EHP4 upgrade(current version EHP4).

please suggest me how to go with it.

alternatively i tried to download from SMP an i got them but am not able to install them via SAINT, as i would need stack.XML file.

Not sure about the steps to execute in ICNV..opened ICNV and initializsed data transfer as per the instruction in it.

                  In our Production server one of the DIA work process running from last 24 hours , we tried to cancel the work process from sm50.

We canceled user section from SM04 .but still that DIA work process running status only, its reached 105322 sec.

Please let me know how to cancel the work process with out restating the Application server.Let me suggest the best solution for this type of issues .

When i open any screen in SAP , we use F1 option for help, there we will see technical options , application help and all..

In this options we have  customization showing in display mode only, we need to change this option to change mode.

We upgraded our PLMWUI from Support Package 06 to Support Package 11, but I saw that some SAPNOTES need to be acticvated manually, and they are not included in the Support Pacakge.

But how can we figure out in which SAPNOTES it is needed to be done something manually? And it which SAPNOTES it is not needed?

I am in the process of upgrading the ERP sandbox system from ECC5 to ECC605 (Phase Downtime).

Due to some problem with the machine, there was an interruption in the Upgrade Program and restart was needed.

The job situation in SM 37 is as follows:

In PARCONV.LOG it seems like the jobs are running. (attached the log).

In SLOG702 log file I see the message repeating continuously:

WARNING: J:\usr\sap\UGT\upg\abap\tmp\PD000408.UGT is already in use (1460), I'm waiting 5 sec (20140408120721). My name: pid 3784
