" Check the logfile SYBGETSERVER.LOG in the directory /sap/usrsap/EEQ/SUM/abap/log for errors on execution of script SYBGETSERVER.SQL. Did SYBGETSERVER.SQL execute correctly? "

There are not SYBGETSERVER.LOG or SYBGETSERVER.SQL in the directory /sap/usrsap/EEQ/SUM/abap/log.

I suppose these files must have been appeared after successful shadow scheme removing

What is it mean?

We are currently upgrading from ECC 6 to EHP4. In the phase PARDSHD 

A report ' tries to activate  '/1BCDWB/DB/BGLOCS/FIVMENU' launched in the

shadow instance,returning table /BGLOCS/FIVMENU  is not active,

which is wrong (check in SE11 in the shadow instance)

(in the shadow instance we could not recreate table)

and also unable to adjust the table in se14 since shadow instance functions are limited.

We are upgrading IDES ECC 6.0 EhP6 with the latest support packs through SUM. The stack was generated from MOPZ and the corresponding components were downloaded and SUM started ..

We are in the process of upgrading to EHP5 from ECC 6.0 (EHP 0).

In the EXTRACTION roadmap, the SDT says "This SAPup version 40.000 is no longer supported. Please use at least SAPup version 25.024." When using SAPup version 25.024 or may be higher than 25 and lower than 40 it says "tool is not yet extracted" (even after extracting the SAPup).

The platform details are -

Linux SLES 11 X86_64

Oracle 10.2.0.5.0

SAP Application ECC 6.0

It's strange that even after using a higher version of SAPup, SDT says this is no longer supported.

Please help/suggest.

we are planing to Upgrade our SAP System.

Now we are on Windows Server 2003 x86, MaxDB 7.7 and non Unicode.

I´ve read the Upgrade Guides and CU&UC Guides.

But some Questions are left:

When i upgrade to EHP6, wich Netweaver Version is it? (7.02 or 7.31)?

And wich Tool should i take? In the (CU&UC) Guides is it SapUp. Or should i take the SUM?

I found the Upgrade Master from 4.6C to ECC 6.00 and also the Upgrade Export. But only without EHP.

I´ve read that i can go directly from 4.6C to ERP 6.00 with EHP6. Is that correct?

If it is possible to upgrade directly, where can i find the Upgrade Export to EHP6?

Can i use the normal EHP6 Export (for a new SAP Installation) from the Download Center for the Upgrade?

And at the end we want to move from MaxDB to Sybase ASE.

So in short:

From SAP 4.6C non Unicode to ECC 6.00 EHP6 Unicode.

Please provide me the best Solution.

after completing the ERP Ehp5 --> Ehp6 upgrade using the SUM tool I found that the old PSAPSR3702 tablespace still had 8 tables residing in it. These were :-

I have encountered a similar issue in the past when upgrading R/3 4.7 to ERP 6 Ehp5 where some tables were left in the PSAPSR3620 tablespace post upgrade. OSS 674070 was actioned in this case to resolve.

This note however is specific to upgrades from the r/3 4.7 release and does not seem to work in my case where the upgrade source release was ERP6 EHp5.

Has anyone seen anything similar with their upgrade process to Ehp6 from Ehp5.

I'm thinking about using brtools to reorg these tables into the PSAPSR3731 tablespace which will then leave the PSAPSR3702 tablespace empty and it can then be dropped as per upgrade guide.

I have completed the EHP6 upgrade  Everything was successful till end and done the backup successful  After that I wanted to restart the sap server so I used the command stopsap r3 with sidadm but system gave error no instance profile found.

I check all profile files are availableand with right permission.

then I check guide and it suggested to stop the system with command stopsap r3 DVEBGMS00 and it stopped successfully, but after that when I run command startsap r3 DVEBGMS00 it gives below error.

I am in the midst of upgrading our system to EHP 6. Our ERP 6 dev system consist of  a CI and an application instance whereas the CI is sitting on HP UX IA 64 bit and the app instance on Linux x86 64 bits. Due to the reason, the developers actively working on a project and we don't want to used up the memory, we decided to run the shadow instance processing on our Linux app instances. everything was a smooth ride till we reached the following phase:        MAIN_SHDPREPUT/SQLDB_SHADOW_PRE. All of sudden the tp failed with RC:27 which I never encountered before.Upon checking the SUM logs and I found out the following error:

We have a SAP NW/BW 7.0 SPS22/24 system which is connected to our SAP ERP system.

We do not use NetWeaver EP/BW/PI hubs in conjunction with the ERP system.

The Upgrade Dependency Analyzer shows the result “Independent upgrade not possible” when used with the following parameters :

Target Component : ERP EhP/ERP 6.0 EhP7/ECC

Existing Component : SAP NetWeaver/NW 7.0/Business Intelligence.

OSS notes 1737650 (ERP 6.0 EhP7 RIN) and 1388258 (Version interoperability..) have been checked.

Question :

Does the “Independent upgrade not possible” result from the UDA mean that we cannot upgrade our SAP ERP system to ERP 6.0 EhP7 without having to

upgrade our SAP NW/BW 7.0 system to NW 7.30 (or higher) ?

We have a  requirement to perform the upgrade of ECC 6.0 EHP4 to EHP6 as follows. Our SAP system is in a distributed environment.

OS of Central Instance: HP-UX

OS of application servers: HP-UX

OS of DB instance: HP-UX

Target

SAP Version: EHP6

OS of Central instance: Linux

OS of application servers: Linux

OS of DB instance: HP-UX

So we want to migrate to Linux for CI and app servers along with the upgrade.

One way for performing this is to migrate the CI/apps to Linux after the upgrade is completed.

Also there is an option in the SUM tool to operate the shadow system remotely. We want to use the target Linux server to run the shadow instance.

Generally after the upgrade is completed, the shadow system will no longer be available and the CI of the upgraded system will be back on the HP-UX server.

Here comes the tricky part.

Is there any option in SUM where we can retain the CI on the Linux server as against the standard switch performed by the upgrade?

This process will help us save some time in migrating the CI to Linux after the upgrade.

Please let me know if the above is feasible and pardon my ignorance if not.

Our approach is like below

1) Hardware migration from SAP 4.0B [HP-Unix/DB:Oracle 9i]  to SAP 4.0B VMware [Windows/oracle]
2) Upgrade from SAP 4.0B to SAP 4.6C
3) Upgrade from SAP 4.6C to SAP 6.0

Please confirm whether above approach is feasible. or any other best approach please let me know.
